Who We Are

The Society for ADHD and Co-Occurring Conditions is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to education and advocacy for individuals navigating ADHD and co-occurring conditions, with a particular focus on those in faith-based communities and historically marginalized populations who have long been underserved. Founded by individuals living with ADHD, we stand at a unique and critical intersection that no other ADHD organization occupies: the space where faith, culture, and ADHD awareness meet.

We are not a faith-based organization — we are an education and advocacy organization that serves faith communities and the populations they represent, leveraging the trust and influence those communities hold to deliver science-backed support where it is needed most.

Our Mission
We empower adults, faith-based communities, and historically marginalized populations through ADHD awareness, advocacy, education, and collaboration. By meeting people in the places they worship, work, and live, we bridge critical gaps in access to culturally and spiritually competent care, resources, and support.

Our Distinctive Niche
The Society is the only ADHD organization in the United States with a dedicated focus on the faith community — a community with profound influence across culturally diverse populations. Faith communities serve as trusted pillars in Black, Latino, immigrant, and other underserved communities where ADHD is chronically underdiagnosed and deeply stigmatized. We leverage that trust to deliver science-backed education, reduce stigma, and improve life outcomes for individuals and families who have historically been left out of the neurodiversity conversation.

As a faith-informed organization, The Society recognizes and respects the profound role that faith plays in the lives of the individuals and communities we serve. Unlike faith-based organizations, which are founded on and governed by religious doctrine, The Society operates as a secular nonprofit with no denominational affiliation. Our faith-informed approach means we meet people within the faith contexts they already trust, leveraging the influence of those communities to deliver science-backed, evidence-based education and support, without requiring any faith commitment from our staff, partners, or participants. This distinction positions The Society to serve across traditions, cultures, and communities, and to be a credible, accessible resource for all.
